If you buy the system or a game, you are within your rights to do with it as you please. That includes dumping a bios, dumping games, and any sort of modification to the hardware. The distribution of copyrighted materials such as the ps2 bios or distribution of backed up copies of your games is technically illegal.
Just a heads up: anyone that downloads roms for PCSX2 emulators will not get any graphics help or any assistance from the people in the PCSX2 Discord. They take "legal" roms very seriously, even though they expect you to buy the PS2 system from someone else, buy the game, *hack* the PS2 system to download the ISO roms, and *then* use their emulator. Doesn't matter if the game is discontinued and companies aren't making money anymore, I guess.
Also correct me if I'm wrong, but modding systems is technically illegal, isn't it?
