These are different, independent games, often with differences far bigger than just "different console." Obvious generational leaps (and 2d->3d leaps!) like Kingdom Hearts: Chain of Memories and RE:CoM are practically different games, and my laptop can run exactly one of those, even if RE:CoM is available for purchase. And even just across consoles of the same generation, look at the debate at Sonic Adventure's Gamecube vs. Dreamcast version; they ARE different.

Also, while there ARE plenty of copies of all of the games elsewhere, the difference is that Vimm's is safe and trustworthy and respected. There's a reason Vimm's existed when PirateBay also technically has everything.

This entire website has become a doom-posting forum since this message was released.

most of these games have remakes, remasters, ports, re-releases, sequels, etc. I say 85% of the removed games can be accessed officially one way or another. and MOST of the completely unavailable games have their content ported into a sequel anyway.

and it's not like Vimm is the only ROM site in the world. the internet archive has all of these games and then some. and most if not all of them are still available and can't get taken down because the internet archive is protected by law.

it's like crying over a library burning down and ignoring the fact that every single one of the books was copied to hundreds of libraries years ago.

I'm seriously done with ya'll.
