Do you mean Save slots? If so, go to Options - Hotkey Settings then to the Save and Load States tab. I can't read it myself and I have no idea what key it is to use them but you can change it to whatever you want from then on.
And a quick note - Super Mario Galaxy should have saves built in, so you should be able to load them.

im new to emulation and i got smg2 working perfectly. my only problem is i dont know how to save the game so i end up restarting every time i boot. you guys know the button to save the game?
