Yeah they had an old server get hacked from what I can remember correctly, but in my opinion they're reliable enough to still use so might as well continue with them.

Sure, it may keep you anonymous from your internet provider, but that data will instead be going to the VPN provider, and whilst they are secure (if made properly), they can be shady and, like all software, not perfect. I'm pretty sure NordVPN got hacked in 2018, with it then getting leaked in 2019 since they didn't tell anyone. Could be wrong though.
