Super Monkey Ball Controls Not Working

My Xbox One controller works perfectly with any other game I try on Dolphin, but for some reason, Super Monkey Ball does not even register keyboard inputs, let alone controller inputs. As a result I am stuck at the start screen and unable to proceed.

Any ideas of how to correct this issue?
