by the way, i was j/k about all the directional stuff (up 3 times, etc.) just jump on the baloon and start walking. if it doesn't move or he falls off, the game is jacked.

Really? When you jump on the balloon, what happens when you push right? Does he just walk off of it? Cuz when he walks right far enough the baloon is supposed to start moving. Someone complained before about DKC2 about the second to last level before the final boss, where the game was ruined and he got that far for nothing. I suspect this might be the same rom.
