Zelda, Secret of Mana/ Evermore, and......?

I can't believe I missed Secret of Mana and Secret of Evermore when I had the original system. These games are NICE. Can anyone recommend any others like them (and Zelda) that have the free-play fighting and finding, without the menus and turn-based fighting? If you haven't played these, you really should download them. For fans of these games I'd really appreciate some recommendations for similar ones. "What doesn't kill you doesn't make you stronger, it just doesn't kill you."
