Dreamcast Seaman Mic not detected

Hello,
Not sure how to search this board for old posts related to the same topic. I just dl the Dreamcast game, Seaman. And it wants me to make sure my mic is plugged into expansion socket 2 of the controller connected to control port A. I'm emulating with Redream and running on W10 PC with an Xbox controller. I have a USB mic plugged into my pc. Will that not work with this game? Or do I need a headset plugged into my Xbox controller?
