It was only released on disc, right? I have it on disc along with a ton of old PC games that never got digital releases like Black & White 2, but I don't have a disk drive. Thought about getting an external one just because I don't wanna go through the trouble of bay expansion when I'd only use it for a handful of games and burning cds now and then.

You're not really missing out on anything except for a smoother experience. As far as I'm aware though, if you want the highest framerates and textures, the Xbox or PC versions are the best, as the GameCube has compressed textures (due to having half the disc size) and the PS2 running slower.

Personally, I recommend the PC version due to it having a pretty decent modding community.
