Can i use a controller?

Simple yes or no question. If I go to walmart, pick up a cheap PC controller, plug it in the right area in the back of my computer and started this program, would the controller work for the game? Or am I stuck using the keys? PS: If i can, how much would one cost anyway? "Looking for mysteries without any clues..."
