Thanks for the correction ... :-)

You're right in saying these numbers tend to be twisted. I remember that it wasn't even you who said $2000, actually. Now that I think about it, the one who posted that amount of money probably was exaggerating. Ugh. Pardon my bad spelling. :-P - Tricob. "Glass Tiger for life! "

It was never quite that high. I've never liked discussing dollar figures because no matter what you say people will twist it to mean anything they want it to. I quickly learned that the only way to win that fight is to never enter the ring. Now that internet advertising is no longer insane people don't bring it up anymore.

The bills were never quite that high though. Back when the internet was booming I was running two servers at the tune of roughly $700/month. Despite that cost, internet advertising was so lucrative that it more than covered it. The servers were filled to capacity so I was even considering adding a third server! But then the bubble burst, advertisers went out of business, and most emulation sites closed (probably because they had to actually pay to run their site for a change). Once I realized it would be impossible to bring in $700 a month I closed the more expensive server, and the advertising market got so bad I had to open the store just to help pay for the cheaper server.

It's taken a long time, but now I finally have the same bandwidth I once paid $700/month for at about $100/month. I can live with that.
