I believe the Turbo On/Off key is "Tab".  If that doesn't help, I think you need to check the Framerate settings in your menu.  You probably need to checkmark "Wait for VSync" or an option like that.

i downloaded the SNES9x emulator, and somehow it got stuck on turbo mode and won't turn off, can anyone help. even tried downloading it again
