I guess there are gamer displays.
But seriously 144hz is such a smooth desktop experience that I'd easily recommend it to even non-gamers if it was mainstream.
Now don't get me wrong, 60hz is indeed serviceable but if I had the opinion between that refresh rate and 144hz then I'll always pick the latter personally myself in the end.

recently ive been reading up on different kinds of displays because i find them interesting, anyone got some interesting displays to learn about? can be anything from CRT to flip disc, the more peculiar the better!
