You can fix this problem in MelonDS by assigning a hotkey to the DS open/close button and spamming it during the opening cutscene where the game freezes! I'm almost done with the game and I don't think there's a freeze anywhere else thankfully.
This game I got from the vault, crashes within the first 5-10 minutes at the same place every time. It's the cutscene directly after you leave the first frog fight. Anyone else having this issue?
