To hell with all these new generation games!

I've played many of the new games the corperations claim to be hot. And I must say... I am very disapointed. Besides Gears of War and maybe Grand theft Auto, I can honestly say that it's the older console game sthat are the funnest. Now every console is notorious for those games they have under their belts that have questioned the players "why did they even bother?", yet the same in a positive manner. Have you guys even TRIED Gears of War? It's amazing! But turning the clock backwards, Please feel free to give me some recommendations for games that are cool on these (my favorite) consoles. Perferably NES... "Looking for mysteries without any clues..."
