Re: To hell with all these new generation games!

You're 20 and you need recommendations? It seems like you're coming from Next-Gen to these Classics and require a difficult, if not impossible, rehabilitation. Honestly, I cannot say that the NES has any game that it as time-consuming, one that you can lose yourself in, as post-PSX generation. Where Next-Gen must force innovation on us, making one expect a new and exciting experience each level, The Classics survive by being simple and repetitive, like a catchy tune that will get stuck in your head. But one must realize that the age group that did not grow up with Nintendo/Super Nintendo/Genesis will be completely without memory of what video games were once like. They will go from new innovation to innovation, or from one forgetful experience to the next, with no Classics of their own. Moreover, this growing environment of force-fed innovation will make any of those who look back to our Classics (like perhaps you may be doing now) revolt back in horror at the redundancy, the simplicity, the deliberate artificiality of the games, and the crude disfigurement of their idols (Mario, Zelda, Samus).
But that has nothing to do with anything you asked ^_^
NES:
fun football games: Tecmo Bowl, Tecmo Super Bowl
fun hockey game: Blades of Steel
fun Soccer game: Nintendo's World Cup Soccer
Legend of Zelda, Super Mario Bros 1 and 3 rock, Contra rocks, Double Dragon rocks.
SNES:
best RPGs: Tales of Phantasia, Chrono Trigger
Tecmo Super Bowl 3 is great
Mario Kart
I've played many of the new games the corperations claim to be hot. And I must say... I am very disapointed. Besides Gears of War and maybe Grand theft Auto, I can honestly say that it's the older console game sthat are the funnest. Now every console is notorious for those games they have under their belts that have questioned the players "why did they even bother?", yet the same in a positive manner. Have you guys even TRIED Gears of War? It's amazing! But turning the clock backwards, Please feel free to give me some recommendations for games that are cool on these (my favorite) consoles. Perferably NES...
