Not too familiar with the PS3, but I can tell you that won't work on an unmodified PS3. If you have modded your PS3 there may be a tool for that though.

Can I use the ps3 Web browser on the ps3 to go to vimm.net and download a ps3 rom instead of downloading from my computer and then transferring it?
