Super Mario control problem

I have been playing Super Mario on the SNES9x on my Mac. After a while, I couldn't move to the right anymore. I could still move left, but when I pressed right on the controls, Mario's feet just moved as if he were walking, but he just stood pretty much still. I could still move around between levels and could kinda move in the air when I jump, but not enough to play. I tried it on both Super Mario, Mario All-Stars, I tried downloading a new Super Nintendo and new games.
Any suggestions?
