Well all these bad ideas should certainly thin out the user base and start freeing up some of that bandwidth you feel so entitled to, so I'm not sure why you're so concerned.

I'm also guessing you don't have much idea of what it costs to maintain this site as it exists, or how much it would cost to appreciably expand the bandwidth, or how much people would realistically donate over a prolonged period, nevermind potential liability issues. Your last sentence even indicates you wouldn't even be interested in chipping in yourself, so maybe take a step back and try to get some perspective.

The site's been here 25 years. Trust that ownership is wise enough to keep the ship afloat. And if all the downloading really is that stressful, maybe you could pass the time actually playing some of the games you've acquired instead of worrying so much about digitally hoarding the rest.

This whole thing you got going on here isn't really working.

Ever since emuparadise, people have flocked here and you have limited download speeds to compensate for the increase in traffic. Bad idea.

People have come forth over the last couple years and offered to make donations to allow for more bandwidth. You ignore them. Bad idea.

If you really care about what you have here then you will listen to them and implement those changes.

You have downloads capped at 700/800 kb/s when the site has heavy traffic. That's not practical for anyone. A 300mb takes 20 minutes in the year 2023?

Get with the times and let people give you money so the rest of us don't have to have our computers on all day just to download a few files.
