Audio issues w/ Pokemon Platinum

I'm trying to play Pokemon Platinum on my New 2DS XL. For some reason, the audio will randomly cut out and come back, sometimes for seconds or minutes at a time. It also affects the audio for the rest of the system and I have to restart to get it back. Oddly, however, this only affects speaker audio, not headphone audio. This doesn't happen with any other games/roms so I'm fairly certain its just this one.
