Did a little readup, apparently you can make a save state, shut down the game, change to controller port 2 and re-launch it. If you do that, I think there's a specific point you have to switch at.
If that's too much, you can always shoot the statues. Apparently that messes his mind reading abilities.

I'm replaying through MGS for PS1 through Duckstation. I know that the Psycho Mantis Fight you have to connect the controller into the second controller port. How am I able to do this through Duckstation? I'll have to remap the controller but how do I tell the emulator to use my controller as the second controller port?
