I would jailbreak the old iPhone 5S and then run iCleaner to clear up more storage

WARNING: unlike stock iOS, jailbroken devices can completely run out of storage, at which point it is quite hard to clear storage. I personally was able to clear my "recently deleted" photos folder, using settings+general+storage (might also have worked just using the photos app). As such, I'd recommend taking a useless video, then deleting it, before you start. Deleted photos get permanently deleted after 30 days


On a side note, jailbreaking isn't risky, unless you care about your device's data. This link has a list of ways to permanently brick an iOS device (https://theapplewiki.com/wiki/Brick), and jailbreaking isn't one of them
