Re: SNES mod

Makes sense. I don't even think a custom made Flash cart for the SNES could hold more than four games, so expecting the SNES hardware to handle something in the Gigabytes seems crazy. Other alternative: iPod Video emulation. I know there's NES, GB, and Doom emulators, but I don't think the iPod has the capacity to handle the SNES.

First off, if you don't know already, one Gigabyte is equal to 1000 Megabytes. Second, the SNES uses a 16-bit processor. I don't remember its speed exactly, but it's between 6 and 12 MHz. Also, its RAM capacity is Mega-*bits*, not Mega-bytes, and a Bit is 1/8 the size of a Byte. By default, it *appears* that the SNES has a maximum of 4 Megabits. This maximum can be increased using memory expansion cards. Most (if not all) SNES games don't go beyond 32 Megabits in size, which is 4 Megabytes.

All this is a far cry away from the 8 Gigabyte flashdrive you're mentioning. I'd be surprised if it was doable. :-(
