Re: Emulators as zip files?

Oh I see the problem, for some reason the files for download of the Windows versions of Zsnes and Snes9x are .exe. Perhaps they were supposed to be self-exctracting and something went wrong, but they don't do anything for me either when I try to run them.
Very simple solution that worked for me: rename the file from snes9x-151-win32.exe to snes9x-151-win32.zip (or zsnes151.exe to zsnes151.zip). Yeah, just change the endings from .exe to .zip, could become a little difficult if your settings are configured to hide file endings (if your file extensions are hidden, goto My Computer, click "Tools" up on top, click "Folder Options", click "View" tab, then uncheck "Hide extensions for Known File Types") and then extract them like any .zip file.
I hope that helps but if that doesn't here's some links I swiped from some site I found on google:
Zsnesw 1.51 Windows
Snes9x 1.51 Windows
I have a similar problem to the HELP NESemulator post below. When I download an emulator file, I save it to my computer and it shows up as an exe file. When I try to run it, I have the same problem as the HELP NESemulator post, (i.e., a window flashes up then disappears.) Tricob posted that you need to unzip the zip file the emulator downloads with, but I don't get a zip file. I only get an exe. (using both of the Snes emulators.) In other words, there's nothing to unzip that I can see. Am running Windows XP. May be an obvious solution I'm missing, and if so sorry for the bother. Any tips would be appreicated. Thanks.
