Re: Super Mario RPG Crashes

I've only used SNES9x on SM RPG, as it tends to have better sound quality all around. SM RPG has given me no problems on this emulator. Haven't tried saved-states yet, but have tried battery-backed-up RAMs, which seem to work fine in SNES9x. It might be your emulator, but I clearly haven't gotten as far on that game as you have. :-) - Tricob. "Glass Tiger for life! "

Not really sure how to go about finding a way to fix this. I'm using ZSNESw on Windows XP Pro. Generally, Super Mario RPG will crash (lock up, requiring me to kill ZSNESw) while playing with my inventory - equipping and swapping items, in particular - or during tutorial sessions. Recently, it's decided to start crashing while receiving a star piece. Normally, I can just abuse save states to get around this problem, but now it's crashing on acquiring the fourth star piece, and I can't really skip that little scene.

I can probably try using the other available SNES emulator, though I'll probably have to start all over :(

As an aside, some of the sounds aren't quite right (Bowser's claw sounds are mauled pretty badly), and I'm wondering if that may have something to do with these crashes.

Any ideas?
