Absolutely had chrono trigger on my list (RIP toriyama). just recently i finished the main storyline of FFX and started giving JRPGs a try after years of putting them off (and now i have years of catching up to do). thx for the suggestions

Chrono Trigger, Metal Warriors, Final Fantasy II and III(aka IV and VI in Japan), Secret of Mana are some of my favorites.
