I once went to Italy and got a starter deck of Pokemon cards which taught me Pokemon names in Italian. Playing Pokemon in Italian should be no problem. lol I can play it in Spanish as well! I think if it comes down to it though and people can't understand different languages, there should be more translation patches for them and may resort to that.

I actually noticed that some games that were taken down had other versions ( often national versions like Spain or France) that were not affected by the great purge. Try to change the filters to try your luck.
