I have many fond memories here and visiting again brings them all back. All the interesting things I got into during my teen years, including this place, helped direct me on my current career path. From a curious teen in the early days of the internet that DID NOT infect the family computer with viruses from LimeWire, to currently leading a Cyber Security team, it’s been an interesting journey. I would check in on this place from time to time, but never posted because... well, I am just anti-social like that.

It was very weird seeing this place being talked about in the news and by people I follow on Youtube. I know that it is old news now, man time flies when you get older and have kids and responsibilities.

I am attempting to restore my old NES, SNES and N64 systems to share those experiences with my son here in a few years. Unfortunately, I seem to have lost or let someone borrow a few of my games and they never got returned. RIP Secret of Mana, Sunset Riders, and Ocarina of Time. It might be prohibitively expensive to get all of that fixed, including a few controllers. Might have to go another route so that we can enjoy those old games together and make new memories.

Thinking about that other route is what brought me back here today! I think I have most of the non-hardware items, mainly thanks to those old times here and elsewhere. Old times…man it was like 20 years ago now…

The IT side of me wants to backup everything here. I have one media server that is about 50 TB and building a new one…shooting for 100+TB….

This was a lot longer than intended… I will stop rambling now!
