It's probably an issue with your emulator. Have you tried redownloading the ROM? Do other SNES games give you issues? Do other emulators give you the same issue with Star Ocean?
when i download star ocean on your guys site it is just broken for me ik probably had people talk about this a lot too but for me like whenever i play it the audio is messed up but the gameplay works just fine so idk if u guys fixed it or not yet
