The steps should go:
- Go to The Vault
- Click on the console you want the game from
- Browse through the A to Z links at the top of the page to find your game
- if it's available, there should be a grey download button, click on that & you're good
Some games may not be available due to DMCA takedowns, and some games have multiple disks; there should be a dropdown menu where you can pick your disk (or game version too!)
This works for the emulators as well if needed.

yo new user here, how the hell do i even download games? yes, i've seacrhed it up, tuts are nowhere to be found for some reason.
