Sorry, I should be clear - Final Fantasy 2 is started with the A button, as opposed to the Start button which you typically expect.

It's working fine for me (Bsnes v115, latest nightly build, on Windows, using the US region version of FF2.)

Are you pressing the A button to start the game instead of the Start button?
