japanese ds games not working?

i downloaded a few games and copied them over to my flash cart to play on my 3ds, all the english ones work fine, but i also have some japanese ones on there, and whenever i try to play them it just turns to a white screen and never loads them.  its only on the flash cart that this happens and isnt a problem with my ds, since i have a physical copy of tomodachi collection (japan only ds game) that works perfectly fine. if anyone has any idea why this is happening please tell me, its not incredibly serious but im a little sad i cant play some games.
