I'm gonna need more info then. It's not something I know of and I can't find any matches based on the info you provided. If you remember anything else, character name, weapons, bad guys, games that look like it then I might be able to find something on it.
Maybe Tricob will chime in. He's better at this game then I am.

That image doesnt look very familiar though.
I think I remember black and white tiles in the sky castle.
But im pretty sure you had to go underground first to do training and then it was quite a long way up to the sky castle.
Man it was such a good game!
