Vimm, another friend I know detected a popup that installs a virus/adware/spyware on the vimmslair.com site when attempting to view it. Can you confirm?
Yes, I've owned that domain for many years. I originally bought it to prevent squatters along with vimmslair.net and .org (I let them expire long ago) but I quickly found a purpose for it. Vimm's Lair was a big point on my resume but I didn't want to have to explain emulation to a prospective employer, so I made vimmslair.com something I'd want to explain. It's the exact same site without any mention of the word "emulation" or "ROM", plus I changed the color scheme to make it clear which site you were at. It has also helped The Manual Project since I imagine high profile sites (such as Wikipedia) would have an issue linking to a ROM site, but vimmslair.com would be fine. I don't give it the same love so things break occasionally, but I do try to keep both sites running smoothly. These days most of vimmslair.com is using the exact same code so each time I update vimm.net it also updates vimmslair.com.
