Just looked at Captain Tsubasa II (Japan only) and noticed it does have special moves, including something called "Banana Shot," but they don't change the ball into something different.

I only know of two soccer(football) games for the NES/famicom and those are Nintendo World Cup and Tecmo Cup Soccer (Captain Tsubasa in Japan). I don't think Tecmo Cup Soccer is it, but Nintendo World Cup did have alot of special kicks, usually involving the ball turning into a super-fast, glowing, orb of death that couldn't be stopped. Don't know about any banana or star though.
