Oh for crying out loud!

I am sorry for your friend and I'm sorry taht his family set a bad example for our religion. If the father thought paligamy is ok well then he should've been excommunicated if the church ever found out about it. But the fact that he had a crappy family should not be setting an example of what our religion is like. Just because your Mormon doesn't mean your perfect or have to act perfect or live by perfect standards. I feel for your friend.
Homosexuality is a sin. But God loves everyone no matter what happens. My dad told me that you can dislike the sin but still love the sinner. As for Blacks, well, at the beginning our church had our struggles to overcome for the first 100 years. There were blacks that in fact did carry the preisthood long before the 1970's but that was thru lineage. There were also many white people that weren't allowed to hold the preisthold as well. It wasn't until the 1970's that Spencer Kimbel fixed it. I forget the reason why it didn't happen sooner but I'll get back to you on that.
Masturbation has been quoted in the Bible and has been used in the Bible but it is still a sin. There are several other things that go on in the bible too, but you won't be seeing me sacrifice my frist born or a sheep in god's name.
Oh BTW fatdan, not to ridicule a fellow brotheren but the way you have handled this so far has somewhat turned it into a pissing contest. Please be a bit more careful about how you convey a message.
"What me worry?"
Proving the validity of the Book of Mormon by asking someone to read the Book of Mormon is total bullshit. That's like trying to find out if your friend is lying by asking your friend if he's lying.
"Hey man, are you lying to me?"
"No"
"Okay."
Think about what you're saying, Dan. If the Book of Mormon contained evidence to suggest that the book is false, nobody would follow it would they?
I hate the Mormon religion for several reasons. First, because I saw first hand how it destroyed my best friend's childhood. Both his parents are devout Mormons, yet every experience I've ever had at his house as a kid was a nightmare. His dad beat all of his children with 2x4s and other objects to try and instil Mormon values into them. He also molested other children thinking it was okay as long as he stayed devoted to God. His dad grew up believing that polygamy was okay, so his parents divorced when his mom found out that he was cheating on her. After his parents divorced, his mom turned into a total bitch. She made an adequate income, but they lived like shit because she blindly gave 10% of her gross income towards the church's tithing. Whenever she bought food, she kept it in a locked storage room so that they would be prepared for the "end of the world" that her church convinced her was coming "any day now". That left my friend with nothing to eat except potatoes and oatmeal for 10 fucking years, while all the good food was locked away. His older brother was hospitalized twice for malnutrition, but his mom didn't give them better food until fellow Mormons started coming over for dinner. She acted like they had the greatest family whenever they were around, but as soon as they were gone, she'd turn back into the bitch she was. It was so blatantly misleading that it helped me open my eyes to the kind of persona church-goers try to represent, while all of the hate that they constantly push aside slow destroys the foundation of their very lives.
I find it great how blacks weren't even considered people in the eyes of God until the 1970's. Did God's eyes change, or did the Church change them for him to try and uphold their "holy" image? I don't even want to ask what Christians or Mormons think about homosexuals. What happens if a boy grows up in a Mormon family and realizes he's attracted to other men? Is he supposed to tell his parents and face punishment and ridicule, or live a life of shame for feeling differently than what he's told to feel by a fictitious book written by some extremist hundreds of years ago?
And Fatdan, I have to ask you, what is your stance on masturbation? Because I know for a fact that you masturbated all over those pictures of Anna Banana and the perverted thoughts of getting with her. Don't forget you used to be a desperate and lonely guy taking a dead-end degree in a crappy community college before you decided to preach your bullshit to a group of Deutsche gehirnwäsche vorgenommene leute for two years. In fact, I don't think much has changed.
