The ZIP files themselves aren't the game.  You extract the game from the ZIP file, then tell the emulator to run the game file.  IIRC, the game file will have the extension N64.

Hey, can anyone help me out, i downloaded gauntlet legends for N64 and the emulator but i dont know how to actually play it. Its in a zip folder and i dont know what to do to play it. thanks
