Re: The XP Dilema

Well, XP is still supported, and will be until 2012. MS has tried numerous times to discontinue support on the OS, and RS Arsenal and countless businesses have revolted against it every time. The only way MS will get people to move to a 64-bit OS is to either buy every XP user new printers and hardware, or simply fix the compatibility issues. Since MS refuses to do either, I believe their days as an independent company are numbered.

To be clear, I'm planning for a new PC.

The one that I'm on now is pretty old and has an XP OEM license, so I've been worried about my rig dying and not being able to find an XP FPP license.

I have use for a 64 bit system, but not an immediate need for it. When I reach that point, I'll probably weep bitterly for not owning an XP 64 license. My situation is fluid enough that I wonder if maybe I should be shopping for one right now.
