Troubles with Mupen64

Hello all, I was wondering if anyone could help me resolve the following issues:
Of the games I've attempted to play, some run on the emulator with no sound and input working, but I get no visual, and then I switch to full screen and I get a Win32 exception error. The later happens with every game I've attempted. Any suggestions? If it's worth anything,I'm using Windows 7.
