It sounds like it's a problem with the emulator/your keyboard not allowing you to hit three buttons at once. I believe the solution has been to set L and R to the SAME key in Input Config in the emulator and that should work. I don't think its an issue with gamepads.

right now im stuck and cant progress the game. Im ine ruins after catching the rat and am holding l&r then i press A and i get no results, can anyone help me?
