thousand arms

i'm having trouble with thousand arms. i play through then i get to the part where Meis and Sodina's brother are comparing swords they made and when meis starts using whatever his name is's hammer the game freezes. at first i thought it was cause i was cheating with the psx emulation cheater (yeah bad me.) but then i deactivated cheating closed out and started over without cheating and get there and still it freezes. anyone tell me what's up? or how to fix it. thanks "I don't suffer from insanity I enjoy every minute of it"
