Oh but you forget... the world revolves only around American Holidays.  All others are but cheap imitations of theirs.  Heh... I'm joking here, but I actually did have a conversation with someone a few weeks ago about this.  They were trying to tell me that there's no way Canada has a "real" Thanksgiving, even though it's an actual National Holiday - it doesn't mean the same and isn't as important as the American one.
