I think a better plan would be to stop relying on direct downloads. With the emulation crackdown moving to torrents would allow faster downloading. You can still use HTTP as the superseed but have a more distributed transfer network.

I believe I already have complete NES,SNES,GB, GBC,GBA and Sega Gen rom sets compressed and everything. I would have to check backup drives top be sure but if they were interested in adding them to the database as 1 file it may save some work.
