Most emulators support using usb controllres. It should be simple to set up. On the same screen you set your keyboard controls, you should also be able to enable a joystick or joypad.
What emulator are you using. It helps to be specific with your problems so you can get specific answers.

can i use a controller for gaming, or only the keyboard buttons. PLEASE HELP, SOMEONE!
