Re: Manual Scan Quality Observations

All manuals are currently resized to 100 dpi for viewing/downloading in an effort to determine the resolution of every manual. If any manual looks different than the rest then either the contributor submitted the wrong dpi or I haven't gotten to it yet. Once I've completed cataloging all resolutions I'll allow the user to choose their resolution. Much of the code for that is already in place and one of these days I'll activate it whether everything's cataloged or not.

I have noticed that when I scan a manual the scan quality is not nearly so important as the ratio that it is uploaded as. I have not done any html in a few years now and wasn't very good at it when I did but I have noticed if I scan at 300 dpi or 100 dpi if I upload it in at that exact setting they tend to be slightly blurry more so in the fine print but if you scan at 100 and send at 75 or similarily if you scan at 300 and send at 150 or 200 the picture and print is much more crip I do not know the reason but I have checked on other computers and monitors and the best results I have had is scanning at 150 and sending at 125. Someone with more knowledge might be able to explain why this is.
