X-Men Legends 2: Rise of Apocalypse extracted fine as well. The fact that it's only X-Men games, and on different systems, makes me think there is something going wrong on your end
What exactly is the message you get when extracting them?
OK, I might do it wrong on Mutant Academy (downloaded and tried only once), but I am pretty sure I did the exact same thing to Next Dimension, Legends and Legends 2 (downloaded them twice) as I did to other PS2 games I've downloaded from here (Dragon Quest VII, Justice League Heroes, Superman Returns, and they are all OK), with the same "corrupted files" result.
