There is one game that comes to mind but I've only seen it on the 110-in-1 priated multi I have for my NES being Macross. You're a ship that shoots horizontally and if you press the Up button (I think I don't really play it much) you turn into a robot and can shoot at enemies that way as well. YOu have so much energy and have to get to the end of the stage and kill a boss to move onto the next

Many years ago I play ed an NES game that started out as you
being a spaceship shooting other ship kind of 1942 style.
There was also a part where you walk around shooting things
kind of Zelda style.
I never got very far in it and it's been a really long time.
