newbie with wii cant get any games to work

Hi all just bought a 2nd hand wii with homebrew installed. came with a usb stick and some games installed.Got it home and only a few installed games worked. after watxching a few videos and forums downloaded wii backup manager and downloaded some wii games from this site. unzipped with winzip and mounted onto usb stick with wii manager. game shows on stick on wii manager put into wii tried to launch using usb loader gx and either get black screen or goes back to launch usb loader gx. the original games already on the stick when i used wii manager a lot were in red as corrupt so assumed they were just bad files downloaded by the seller. the games i got from here all show as ok on wii manager but just dont work. only one that kind of loaded was mario cart but just kept disconnecting controller and stuck on the loading screen. ive trie using genuine wii remote genuine with motion plus and non genuine but non worked. i Have gone onto usb loader gx and tried to update it and it said it was latest version and no update available. my wii is a black one running 4.3e. slight problem is i only have a laptop with usb slot and not memory card slot as seen i may need a prog called cios as watched videos that put settings using this but dont seem to see that anywhere. progs i have when launch homebrew are
usb loader gx, clean rip, nintendo gamecube, gcmm, gecko, homebrew browser and nintendont.
i thought it maybe the usb stick as read they can be dodgy but strange that games on it already work.
I have been downloading games in .wbfs format. anymore info needed please ask and any help would be great as doing my head in now. games ive tried from this site include mario cart, kirbys epic yarn, just dance 2019, jaws, sonic colours.
