Sonic Adventure DX for gamecube and Tiny Chao

I put Sonic Adventure DX on my Wii and it won't connect to my GBA SP to make a Tiny Chao Garden. Is this a common problem or is there a way to fix it maybe? I have a brand new link cable, so I know the cable isn't the problem, but is there a disconnect with the rom maybe?
