Re: Where it all started

It'd be neat having a site and message board of my own someday. But I'll wait until after I'm done reformatting the harddisk, making a dual OS, and getting a different internet service. Backing up all I've got onto CDs is also sort of a priority ...

It's neat to hear other people's stories. I created the message board simply as a place for people to get help without always having to rely on me. It was also a nice excuse to dip my toe into a scripting language (perl). Before the boards all people could do was e-mail me (or fill out the form) and wait for a reply, but with a message board other people could see their question and maybe even help them out before I've even read it! It seemed like a great idea to me. I had no idea it would turn into anything social-like. So, I decided I'd just make sure that things remained civilized then sit back and watch. The results sure surprised me!
